2009-11 Periodic Review and Technical Assistance
The Department of Land Conservation and Development offers grants to local and tribal governments to complete projects that update and modernize comprehensive plans, land use ordinances, development codes and other planning regulations. The grants are provided to jurisdictions completing a structured Periodic Review process and to jurisdictions with stand-alone planning projects.
Periodic Review grants are used for completing tasks on currently established work programs. Work program preparation is also an eligible use of Periodic Review grant funds, after existing work program work tasks are funded.
Technical Assistance awards are guided by a Grants Allocation Plan. The allocation plan lists priorities such as:
-
Economic development,
-
Streamlining planning processes,
-
Intergovernmental agreements,
-
Updates to coordinated county-wide population projections, and
-
Infrastructure finance planning.
Compliance with federal mandates and coordination with other grant opportunities are also recognized in the allocation plan as an important use of funds.
The department will be accepting applications for the 2011-13 biennium in the spring of 2011. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications as early as possible. The deadline for all applications will be determined in the spring of 2011.
Application forms for Periodic Review and Technical Assistance grants for the 2011-13 biennium will be available in spring 2011.
For assistance with 2011-13 projects, or for questions about eligible projects, please contact your DLCD regional representative.
